Reversible Placemat

This class features a placemat as the project.  We will learn the basics of the Cotton Theory Method that will be the building blocks for all other Cotton Theory Projects.  This class is a pre-requisite for all other Cotton Theory workshops.

The kit will include pre-cut fabric, batting, the Cotton Theory adhesive seam guide, a 1" x 6" ruler, a 90/14 machine needle in a free notions keeper.  Threads will be available for class use.

Reversible Table Runner or Topper

This class will focus on how to properly align a table runner which is done in a straight line or a table topper which has both horizontal and vertical alignments.  We will have the opportunity to learn reversible binding so that your project will have bindings that match on each side.  In this class we will be doing channel quilting techniques however, we will have embroidered panels that may be purchased.

There will be several kit choices.  Each kit will include pre-cut fabric, batting and a 90/14 machine needle.  Threads will be made available for use in class.

Reversible Rug Workshop

This class features 2 sizes of rugs (runners) from Cotton Theory Book II or booklets.  This is truly durable for use as a rug.  The class will be adding to the skills you learned in the placemat class.  You will learn the highway, aligned intersections, and reversible binding.

To make your quilted rug a one of a kind, we offer a variety of choices for front and back.  Kits will also include pre-cut batting, a 90/14 needle, and 2 spools of decorative thread.

Reversible Bath Mat Workshop

This class will focus on how to construct a Bath Mat from Cotton Theory Book I.  This class features the Highway Method of attaching strips and the One-Way Street Method of attaching rows.  You will be given a choice of 2 styles of mats, giving you the opportunity to see how you can take an existing pattern and change it.  Alternate binding techniques will be taught.  To make your quilt a unique one of a kind, we offer a variety of choices for front and back.  Kits also include pre-cut batting, a 90/14 needle, and 2 spools of decorative thread.

Tote Bag Workshop

This class will focus on constructing a reversible tote bag using the Highway and One-Way Street construction methods.  We will learn alignment, how to join the side seams and fold to create a finished seam that makes the bag reversible.  We will also use reversible binding so each side is unique.  We will be doing various styles of channel quilting in the center or we have a variety of embroidered centers that may be purchased.

There will be several kit choices.  Kits will include pre-cut fabric, batting and a 90/14 machine needle.  Threads will be made available for use in class.

Quilt Workshop

In this class you will have a choice of several quilt projects.  In Cotton Theory Book I, there is a Baby Quilt, and the Tick-Tack-Toe Quilt.  In Cotton Theory Booklets, there is the Courthouse Steps, Fly Away Home, and a new pattern Scenes of Winter.  This class features the Highway Method of attaching strips and the One-Way Street Method of attaching rows.  You will learn to use connectors to join the rows together to form your quilt.  This is all done by machine and it appears as though you've completed two quilts since both sides are different.

To make your quilt a one of a kind, we offer a variety of choices for front and back.  Kits will also include pre-cut batting, a 90/14 needle, and 2 spools of decorative thread.

Piecing Workshop

Cotton Theory pattern booklets; 3-D Pinwheels, Fly Away Home, or Dancing Stars will be used to teach the art of combining quilt piecing with the Cotton Theory Method.  You will also learn about alignment and converting patterns to a different project.

These Projects can be made into table runners, placemats, or full-size quilts.  You may want to enlarge the project or cut it down and we will help you achieve your goal.

There will be several kit choices.  Kit includes pre-cut fabric, batting and a 90/14 machine needle.  Threads will be available for class use.

Advanced Tote Bag Workshop

In this class you will have a choice of tote bags.  You may choose to do a bag that requires piecing, embroidery, appliqué embroidery, or bobbin work with silk ribbons or heavy variegated wool threads.  You will have the opportunity to explore how threads and ribbons can be used to create dimension in a bag.  You will learn how to join the side seams and fold to create a finished seam that makes the bag reversible.  You will also learn how to create a boxed corner without sewing a stitch and how to apply a reversible binding

Kits will include pre-cut fabric, batting, silk ribbon, heavy wool thread, or ultra-suede depending on the kit chosen.    Threads will be made available for class use.
